Paisley – Charleston

The Charleston Surgery is a long established practice of approximately 6000 patients. Our purpose-built premises is situated in a busy residential area next to Paisley city centre. We comprise 5 GP Partners, encompassing a wide range of experience and a variety of special interests, four of whom are previous Charleston trainees.

Our trainers are Dr Catherine Wills and Dr Claire Sutherland, however all Partners, Nursing staff, and the Admin team are involved in the training of GPSTs and medical students.

We have been a training practice since 1988, and take a great amount of pride in putting training at the forefront of everything we do at Charleston. We are a busy and diverse practice that is responsible for the care of 60 patients at the Westerfield Care Home, as well as running a weekly Drug Misuse Clinic /counselling service.

We also drive ourselves to regularly review and improve our services via weekly admin, clinical, and management meetings, on top of our monthly multidisciplinary meetings with District Nurses, Health Visitors, and Pharmacists-all of which our trainees are encouraged to attend and participate in fully. The Charleston team itself is a very friendly, helpful and sociable group that is able to offer an excellent overall training experience.

Should you wish to come and meet us, have a look round, or simply make a general enquiry, please contact our Practice Manager, Nadia Ghanbari on nadia.ghanbari@nhs.net. Alternatively, our current trainees would be delighted to take any questions you may have.
