Renfrew – Clydeview
Clydeview Medical Practice is the largest of the three medical practices in the historical town of Renfrew. Sitting on the south bank of the River Clyde, just west of Glasgow, Renfrew has a population of 20,000 and is a few minutes from Glasgow city centre on the M8. With local engineering, aerospace and shipbuilding industries providing job opportunities, Renfrew has a growing and diverse population.
Clydeview Medical Practice dates back to the late 1800s and has a long history of being at the heart of the town of Renfrew. Notable doctors who have worked here include Dr Hastings Banda who later became president of Malawi, and First World War flying ace Dr John Todd MBE.
Our well organised practice provides medical services to 8200 patients. We are based in a modern, custom-built Health Centre which opened in 2010 with podiatry, physiotherapy, social work, psychotherapy and health visitor services also working from the building. Our practice has five GP partners, including one of our former GP trainees, who work alongside our practice nurses and health care assistant.
As well as GP trainees we also have FY2 doctors working in the practice for their GP rotation, in a friendly and supportive enviroment. We deliver a full range of GP services within the practice, including drug misuse clinics, provision of contraception implants and joint injections. Outwith the practice our GPs are also involved in delivering occupational medicine services and providing crowd doctor cover at football matches.
