Paisley – Anchor Mill

We are a friendly, enthusiastic and long established training practice in the middle of Paisley. We enjoy our role in training both GPSTs and FY2s. Our GPs are Dr Rhona McMillan, Dr David Brydie, Dr Michael Rea, Dr Helen Milligan, Dr Rachael King and Dr Paul Findlay. Four of our partners are qualified to train and the other two partners are about to embark on their studies to become trainers.

We are fortunate to practice in a fantastic modern and purpose built premises with ample parking for both patients and staff . We have a list size of approximately  7,800 with a diverse socio-economic mix.

We have fortnightly primary care meetings with the District nurses and McMillan nurse for our area. We meet weekly with our Health visitors. All members of our extended primary care team are involved in teaching and training our new recruits. We arrange regular in-house teaching for medical , nursing and administration staff and on occasions invite local consultants and specialists to share their knowledge with us in identified areas of need.

We have regular fundraising events supporting causes such as British Heart Foundation , Breast Cancer awareness and Accord Hospice. We also have regular social nights such as Christmas nights out and bowling and plan a practice cycle round Millport this summer.

We all enjoy the stimulus of teaching and training our GPs of the future and place GPST training high in our priorities in our working  week , we look forward to this rewarding role for years to come.
